Are faith and feminism compatible? Join Dr. Donna Freitas, author of Sex and the Soul, and HKU emeritus professor Maureen Sabine as they discuss “the two F’s” – faith and feminism.
Dr. Donna Freitas is the author of both fiction and nonfiction, and has written for newspapers and magazines, including The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. She is currently a non-resident research associate at the Center for Religion and Society at the University of Notre Dame.
Moderator: Professor Maureen Sabine is an interdisciplinary scholar whose research features gender, sexuality and religion. She worked in the Departments of English, Comparative Literature and History at the University of Hong Kong and is now Honorary Professor in the School of Humanities.
This event is held as part of the Gender Studies Seminar Series and is co-presented with Faith and Global Engagement, with the support of the Committee on Gender Equality and Diversity, the Faculty of Education, and the Women's Studies Research Centre.
