Exhibition period: 16 - 29 November 2021

Venue: Run Run Shaw Tower G/F Gallery, HKU

In its seventh edition, the Hong Kong Human Rights Arts Prize 2021 was co-presented by Justice Centre Hong Kong and the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao to honour the power of art as a catalyst for social change and the defence of human dignity.

Echoing the United Nations’ Global Compact for Migration, the Hong Kong Human Rights Arts Prize 2021 encouraged artists to explore the complexity of migration issues and intersecting human rights issues under this year’s theme of “Shared Future”.

This year’s winners were announced in June 2021. All 33 shortlisted and winning artworks were exhibited at the Goethe-Institut Hongkong throughout June.

With the support of the Faculty of Arts and its Committee on Gender Equality and Diversity, it is an honour for the Hong Kong Human Rights Arts Prize 2021 to be featured on the HKU campus to celebrate the artistic brilliance of select entries in their reprint.
