Speaker: Professor Dina Iordanova

Time: 12:00-2:00 pm
Venue: 408, Run Run Shaw Tower, Centennial Campus
Professor Dina Iordanova
A native of a marginal East European country who does not hold of a Western doctorate on the one hand.
A full professor at an ancient British University at 44 and an experienced administration/research leader on the other.
Wherever I go, I am cast as a non-standard academic, an opinionated foreign woman – exotic and unpredictable.
I have learned to turn it into an advantage and not shy from leadership opportunities when they seem right.
In this workshop, I will share thoughts on adversity and resilience in the arts as they are informed by my personal experience of migrant woman working in a variety of cultural contexts.
My introductory remarks will be used as the basis for an open-ended discussion with attendees.
